بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ١
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Al-Fatihah, Ayah 1
The Opening
Bismillah — "In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful." The believer begins every action seeking Allah's blessing and aid, invoking two of His most beautiful attributes: Ar-Rahman, whose mercy encompasses all creation, and Ar-Rahim, whose particular mercy is reserved for the believers.
